"EMB work in a very specialist segment of the non-life insurance market. We have experienced some tremendous growth in the last few years and our project management and back office systems were beginning to creak under the strain."
"You would have thought at all timesheet systems are pretty much the same - all require staff, projects, timesheets, expenses and the ability to raise an invoice - but this is simply not the case. The systems we looked at all provided basic functionality but very few gave us the flexibility we needed. We wanted a single system that had the ability to project manage jobs, an interface with Microsoft Project, easy to use timesheets and expense sheets, all finished-off with flexible invoicing."
"Our biggest requirement was ensuring we kept the invoicing as flexible as possible. We have clients who ask us to bill in advance, bill by date, agreed an invoice cap, some want a percentage or fixed price discount, others want us to write-off or write-up an amount, decrease or increase the number of hours worked, decrease or increase the hourly rate, or provide summary or detail invoice layouts.. the list just goes on. Some of the client's even commission joint fund consultancy and then ask us to split the invoice 18 ways on a percentage basis! The permutations are literally endless."
"Orica Software offered to re-work their Work-in-Progress and Invoice folders to meet our requirements. It was a golden opportunity for EMB to get exactly what we wanted. We put together a specification and Orica gave us a fixed price for the work which we duly accepted. They went off and did the development work."
"When Timemaster 2 was finally finished, it was installed and we began to configure the application. Graham Tree, Orica Software's Managing Director, came down and did the training and off we went. The first delivery did have one or two teething problems but we are software developers ourselves and we understand that some features don't work exactly as specified. However, these have all been addressed subsequently and we have been using the system for the last 12 months without a problem."
